Кото де Калеруега
Рибера дел Дуеро · Испания
Coto de Caleruega takes its name from the village of Caleruega in Burgos province, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. The project comes from the group behind El Coto de Rioja, bringing that house's experience to Spain's other great Tempranillo region. Here the grape goes by Tinta del País, grown on the high Duero plateau where hot days and cold nights concentrate flavour while keeping the wines fresh. Coto de Caleruega Roble, the winery's calling card in our catalogue, spends a short spell in oak — enough to round the edges without covering the fruit. It is Ribera del Duero in its most approachable form: dark cherry, a touch of spice, and the firm backbone the region is known for.
