Алоис Лагедер
Алто Адидже · Италия
The winery has been family-owned for six generations, each of which has shaped and contributed to the business in its own way. In 1823 Johann Lageder laid the foundation, trading in wine alongside his work as a wagon builder. His successors bought the first vineyards and began making wine themselves. A significant development came in 1934, when the grandfather acquired the Löwengang estate in Magrè, where the winery's headquarters stand today. In the 1990s, the father set himself the goal of reaching a new level of quality — a first not only for the winery but for the wider Alto Adige region. He also introduced sustainable viticulture, converting all the family vineyards to biodynamic farming. For the sixth generation, which currently runs the winery, the ambition is to develop this identity further and to keep exploring sustainable farming methods while confronting the challenges posed by climate change.
