The Despagnes are one of the long-established wine families of Entre-deux-Mers, the hilly country between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers east of the city of Bordeaux. The family has farmed vines here for generations and today runs several estates across the area. Two of them represent the house in our catalogue: Château Tour de Mirambeau, whose Réserve Blanc blends Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon into a taut, aromatic white, and Château Mont-Pérat, a dense, Merlot-led red from limestone slopes above the Garonne. The house style is modern Bordeaux without the weight: ripe fruit, precise cellar work, and wines made for the table rather than the trophy shelf.
