The Bründlmayer winery is located in Langenlois, about 70 km north-west of Vienna, up the Danube in the Kamp valley. Wooded hills shield the vineyards from the cold north-westerly winds. By day the sun warms the stony terraced vineyards, while at night fresh forest air drifts down the Kamp valley towards Langenlois. Today Willi Bründlmayer runs the family estate together with his wife Edwige, Thomas Klinger and Andreas Wickhoff MW (Master of Wine). In his words: "Wine tells you everything about the soil, the warmth and the cold, the storms and the rain, the landscape — and the people involved in making it from the very beginning." The single-varietal wines are crystal-clear interpretations of the variety and its origin, while the interplay between soil and fruit is the focal point of the classic wines from individual vineyard sites. The winery's most important varieties are Riesling and Grüner Veltliner.
