Umani Ronchi is Gambero Rosso's Winery of the Year

On October 15 at Teatro Brancaccio in Rome, at the presentation of the Vini d'Italia 2024 guide, Gambero Rosso announced its special “Winery of the Year” award — and it went to Umani Ronchi. Michele and Massimo Bernetti accepted it in person.

The honour recognises not one wine but a body of work: six Umani Ronchi wines reached the guide's final tastings, and the new Historical 2018 — a Verdicchio aged five years — earned Tre Bicchieri. The jury also noted the Bernetti family's vision beyond the cellar: architecture, tourism and hospitality across Marche and Abruzzo.

World recognition is not new to the winery: Pelago '94 was named the world's best red wine in 1997, and Vecchie Vigne was White Wine of the Year in 2012. Umani Ronchi has been part of Bibendum's portfolio since 2016, and the wines from the awarded guide are in our catalog.
