On June 25 in Reims, partners, clients and figures from the worlds of wine and culture gathered to mark the 250th anniversary of Champagne Louis Roederer. Since 1776 the House has remained family-owned and independent — a rarity in Champagne, where such words are increasingly a memory rather than a present tense.
„The most faithful way to honour our history is to continue creating, together.“
The evening at the historic 21 boulevard Lundy brought together more than 600 guests around two specially commissioned works: an immersive installation by Bianca Bondi in the family mansion, and a luminous mosaic of personal photographs from employees, growers and friends of the House — a collective portrait of the people behind the wine.
Cristal at 150
2026 is a double celebration: Cristal — the legendary cuvée created in 1876 at the request of Tsar Alexander II — turns 150. The evening of June 25 saw the unveiling of Cristal 2018, along with something new from the House's “laboratory of time”: Cristal Late Release from the 2008 harvest, shown at the moment when, according to winemaker Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, the wine reveals its full depth.

Louis Roederer has been part of Bibendum's portfolio since 2006 — twenty of those 250 years we've followed their story up close. You'll find the House's wines in our catalog.
