In March 2026, Drinks International announced the results of its annual The World's Most Admired Wine Brands poll — and for the second consecutive year, Catena Zapata of Mendoza is at the top. The ranking isn't decided by juries or media, but by the votes of the people who work with wine every day: merchants, buyers, Masters of Wine and wine writers from around the world.
„To be named in this list is a seismic achievement, and to reach the number one position is truly exceptional.“
The Catena family story begins in 1902, when Nicola Catena planted his first vines in Mendoza. Four generations later the winery, led by Laura Catena, has turned Argentine Malbec from a local love into a world language — with high-altitude vineyards, its own research institute, and the Agrelo pyramid that has become the symbol of an entire country.
Catena Zapata has been part of Bibendum's portfolio since 2006. The wines — from the approachable high-altitude ranges to Nicolás Catena Zapata — are in our catalog.
